Redfern Canines and Lebanon Humane Society Promotion

We’re excited to partner with the Humane Society of Lebanon County to help you and your newly adopted friend get off to a great start! Check your adoption packet to see how you may qualify for a discount on training fees at Redfern Canines.

GOALS: To increase the number of successful dog adoptions and decrease the likelihood that adopted dogs are returned to the shelter due to behavioral/training issues. To train the dog in basic obedience skills and to teach the adopter how to use positive reinforcement training skills that are LIMA compliant (Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive).

ELIGIBILITY: Any dog without a bite history that is adopted from the Lebanon Humane Society is eligible for a discounted Level 1 class at Redfern Canines. Redfern’s Level 1 class includes a 2-hour Introduction to Training seminar and six 1-hour classes. Redfern’s classes include teaching sit, down, stand, come, no jumping, loose leash walking, leave it, and attention. Classes also include discussions about behavioral issues the adopter/dog may be encountering. Classes have a maximum of seven dogs. However, multiple family members are welcome and encouraged to attend classes.

PROCESS: At the time of adoption, Humane Society Staff will offer a training coupon to the adopter. The coupon will be good for a 10% refund of the training fee after completion of the Introduction to Training Seminar. The refund will be made to the same method of payment that the student used to pay for the course and will occur within five working days of the seminar’s completion. The adopter is responsible for presenting the coupon to the seminar presenter at the end of the seminar.
