Amy runs the Redfern Canines website. She currently shares her home with two “foster fails”: Bailey, a boxer/cattle dog mix, and Coda, a pit bull/lab mix, as well as five cats and a very patient husband.
Amy has fostered several dozen dogs, and over 100 cats and kittens.
In addition to beginners and advanced manners classes, Amy’s dogs have participated in CGC, rally, and nosework classes at Redfern.
Amy also has a barn full of critters including horses, goats, and chickens. One of her favorite pets is a “special needs” rooster named Andy Warhol.
Some of her early attempts at clicker training included teaching a cat to shake hands, wave, wash its face, and jump in and out of a basket on cue (because what else do you do if you don’t have a dog when you first learn about clicker training?), and teaching a feral duck to spin in a circle for a piece of corn.
Amy has been designing websites for small businesses, non-profits, hobbyists, and community groups since 2000. When she’s not going cross-eyed behind the computer keyboard, she enjoys trail riding, walking the dogs, reading, doing puzzles, and playing in a community band.
