- Optimize training techniques
- Understand 3D’s and 3C’s
- Use cues properly
- Work with focus from dog—C/T every time dog ‘tunes in’/makes eye contact
- Introduce 3C’s (Clear, Concise, Consistent)
- Review 3 D’s (Distance, Duration, Distraction)
- Teach ‘Whiplash’ Head Turn
- Practice calisthenics (30 sec exercise)
- Review stay
- Means MAINTAIN any position
- C/T for holding position, not getting into position
- Review Loose Leash walking
- Teach Paw Trick (Shake, High 5, Wave)
Homework for Week 1
- Use daily activities for training—be able to tell how/when
- Practice whiplash head turn
- Do Calisthenics in different places
- Practice Doorbell/Knock
- Teach paw trick
- Bring a ‘mat’ to class each week (pillowcase, bathmat, hand towel, etc.)
